OUR PASTORS

Matthew and Falyn Davis are our Lead Pastors here at Blueprint Church. These Houston natives met during their college years, wed in 2021, and recently gave birth to their first child, Zoey.

Pastor Matt is a former quarterback for Texas A&M and SMU. Pastoring wasn’t always on his radar, although he has years of experience with servant leadership in ministry. As a college student, Pastor Matt spearheaded a campus ministry that grew rapidly and went on to make a lasting impact in other ministries for years to follow. This was the space where God began to cultivate the gifts that would usher him into pastoring. The vision for Blueprint Church didn’t come until 2017, but the preparation, unbeknownst to him, started long before. Pastor Matt is a dynamic leader and gifted communicator, but his heart for God’s people is what continues to drive him into purpose.

Pastor Falyn, a University of Missouri alum, is the essence of a leader. With her infectious energy and unwavering commitment to the people she serves, she is a beacon of hope and inspiration to anyone she encounters. A communicator at her core, she has an uncanny ability to connect with people in meaningful ways. Her extensive experience with church leadership makes her an ideal co-laborer in the vision of Blueprint.

Together, Pastor Matt and Pastor Falyn have a heart for impacting culture by reaching people with the love of Christ. They believe in building relationships and meeting people—whether over-churched, under-churched, or somewhere in between—right where they are. Both Houston natives, they’ve combined their burden for ministry and passion for their city to create a place of safety for believers inside and outside of the church walls. Blueprint Church is a place where every story matters and everyone can grow in their faith and discover their purpose in life through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

T H E B I B L E

The Bible is God’s written Word to all of humanity. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is absolute truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives.

T H E T R I N I T Y

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and co-eternal.

T H E F A T H E R

God is great: He is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, without fault, and above all, holy. He is the creator of all and exists in eternity. It is in Him that we live, move, and exist. God is good: He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises.

J E S U S

Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory.

H O L Y S P I R I T

Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, which fills those who have received salvation in Jesus Christ. He assures us of our relationship with Christ, guides believers into all truth, instructs us, and convicts people of their sin, comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ. Evidence of the Holy Spirit is seen in the Fruit of the Spirit, speaking in unknown tongues, gifts of the Spirit, etc.

M A N K I N D

Mankind is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Mankind was created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through sin. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. Every human being is uniquely created, is equal in the eyes of God, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

R E P E N T E N C E

Mankind was created good and upright, but voluntarily fell into sin. Our only way to redemption is salvation through Jesus Christ. Repentance is a commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ. Through repentance we individually receive forgiveness of sins and salvation.

S A L V A T I O N

The shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the only path to salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a free gift given through the grace of God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.

P R A Y E R

Prayer is our ability to communicate with God. Through Jesus’ salvation, we no longer need an intercessor to go between God and us; we can address Him directly. We believe that no substantial thing can be done without prayer preceding it and continuing through it.

B A P T I S M

Baptism is a symbolic act to publicly profess one’s salvation. God commands it, but our salvation is not reliant upon it. We practice baptism by water, symbolizing the process of death and resurrection that Jesus went through for us.

S E C O N D C O M I N G

Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His dominion and authority on earth. This will occur at a time undisclosed by scripture. Jesus Himself doesn’t even know the day nor hour of His return–only God the Father. So, we live every day in expectation of Christ’s return.

E T E R N I T Y

Man was created to exist forever. He will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
